I'm having a saddle nightmare at the moment.

Has anyone used one of these to test the saddle fit?

(or know of a cheaper alternative or one for sale 2nd hand?)

thanks

I have one. It is not instead of a saddler, it is for those times a saddler says a saddle fits, but I or the horse thinks otherwise. It gives an idea into where the pressure points might be. It does alter the fit of the saddle, but I offset that as I usually use a sheepskin under the saddle and when testing I use a towel and the Port Lewis.

It is useful to have a photo of the thin or even clear areas, to discuss with a saddler.

It is cheaper than a computer pressure Pliance version, but not as informative..

I haven't used one myself but they look like a good idea as an extra check if you think things aren't right.

Try looking up a company called better saddles as i think they might hire them out

I've got one that I used the once that I most probably won't need again. We're moving house so a friend is storing it (along with a ton of other stuff I should get rid of, I am quite the spendthrift and hoarder sadly). Anyone want to start a tackaholic support group?
