Back in the day, my horses were always delighted with half a scabby apple or a slice of bread. But now I'm feeling a little inadequate!
I've just come back into horse ownership after a 3 year break, and I'm stunned at the vast array of posh horse treats available! Pecan and honey nibbles, apple 'flavoured' treats and other such items. What I want to know is, are these treats beneficial? Or are they just sweeties for horses, bad for them but ok for an odd treat? What do you treat your hairies with?
Off the track a little, a livery friend of mine has a 22 year old ex tv/stunt horse who will do anything for irn-bru FROM THE CAN! Terrible I know, I know, but I figure she's got to 22 with good teeth, why burst her bubble? (She also sits on command
