Morning guys

I need loads and loads of positive vibes this morning

I got to the yard earlier (6am) to do my two only to find that Archie has a back leg the size of a melon

From about halfway down the outside of his off hind is swollen right down to his fetlock

Its soft tho, not hard. Hes sound in walk, i couldnt trot him up as i wouldnt have been able to see properly.

im going back down when it gets daylight to have another look and get YO to trot him up for me

If anyone has any opinions or thoughts on what it might be please reply!! If not just some positive vibes would be great right now

good luck later.

He's probably just banged it or maybe he's had a reaction to a bit of dirt, have a look to see if there are any little cuts.

i did have a feel in the dark and i couldnt feel any little cuts or knocks. but once i get there in the daylight in a bit il be able to totally examine him!! (poor chap!)

Oh no!! Poor Archie

Any chance he could have got himself cast in the night and knocked his leg?

A horse at the yard did this and leg went HUGE - a course of antibiotics and she was as right as rain

huge hugs & positive vibes, D was the same on Sunday, leg like an elephant, I know what it feels like when you know you'll never have one that good again.

But don't despair as d has a pony leg again already

Vet thinks he had just managed to kick himself(Donkey!)

Molly had something similar about a year ago on her front leg. I was in a complete panic as they had just resurfaced the school and it was very deep so I was thinking tendons! Vet came out and said it was probably just a tiny cut that had got infected (dermatitis I think??), I couldn't find any cuts but it went down in two days and she was totally fine. Fingers crossed!

hells bells hun!!!!

nightmare.... i really hope Archie boy is OK.... I'm sure he will be, if he's been out during the day, he may have slipped in the wet ground, or just knocked it in his stable??? not sure, but i'm sure he'll be fine...

((((((((( hugs ))))))))))) to you both.

Bxxx

Agree with Diesel Dog - my horse flares up with any slight nicks - have found purple spray to sort this problem out a treat.

Here's hoping it turns out to be something and nothing. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Hugs and positive vibes on their way to you P_G!

Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something minor like an infected cut - try not to panic until you have a firm diagnosis. (Easier said than done, I know!)

Really sorry hun! Phil is damaging herself all the time - and shes still amazing! I'm sure its just a small injury, just looks bad, it'll be nothing in a few days!

Bummer PG

Sending you some more Positive vibes - hope the Archie Boy is back mended soon.

Let us know how you get on?!
