Poss foreign body in wound

Anybody experiences of foreign body in horses wound ,

My baby horse somehow managed to cut himself and nose all swollen , vet came and checked and was looking ok , but to monitor as if starts oozing poss has
Foreign body in there ??

Has been fine until this am and started oozing ???

Yep can easily send a
Pic , no lucily there is no heat anywere around it and lucily
No hedges or trees thankfully
In the field but his stable is wood so poss
Splinter maybe , but also awkward area as so much movement too x

You may just need some antibiotics it could have become infected as they often do.

I have managed to avoid the need for antibiotics for cuts in the past by washing and hosing several times a day then applying a thick spray of silver spray after each wash.

Bathe it with warm salt water - if there is something in there it should help draw it out. Perhaps also send vet photo and tell them what you are doing?

Oozing pus (thick, coloured) or oozing serum (thin unless it dries out, see-through) ? Serum is normal, it's just the dead bits shedding away. If it's pus I would do salt and warm water twice or more a day, hope whatever is in there is pushed out, and wait for a day or two as long as it doesn't get hot and swell.

PS serum "burns" the skin, you might want to put some vaseline on his face below it until it dries up.
