For the past couple of weeks my horse has been intermittently lame in both hind legs, he's not massively limping but is obviously sore. The degree of the lameness can vary from day to day - sometimes he's sound and other times he drags both back legs and struggles to trot and canter properly. He also wont put on muscle around his bum (from his pelvis / hips area backwards) and both his back legs are quite stiff when you pick them up to pick his feet out and they click when he walks.* He has already been to the vets for a work up and they used nerve block all the way to his stifle but he was still coming up lame (although they only did this on one leg and not both?) so they just injected one of his hocks which hasn't really improved anything. He is booked in to go to the vets for another work up and scans etc...* I just wondered if anyone knows what could be causing this lameness?* I was thinking it could either be something wrong in his hips / pelvis area as both legs are lame or possibly due to back pain as he was also diagnosed with kissing spine a couple of weeks ago and his back was medicated with injections which might not have worked?* Any ideas???
