There is currently a black IW 511 trailer on ebay advertised at a bargain price (well under half list price). I am sure its some sort of scam as there's a link taking you to another page and asking for personal details.

I've reported this to ebay but thought I would mention it, in case anyone was tempted by the bargain.

I could of course be wrong and its very genuine, in which case I apologise - although I should think this thread will increase the viewers on trailers on ebay!

It appears that it was placed in auction with a buy it now price & the seller didn't realise that as soon as a bid is placed then it erases that option.......they didn't put a reserve on it either....... unless the account has been hijacked the seller appears to be a regular user of ebay.

It does seem a departure for this ebayer - normally buys small bits & bobs and first attempt at selling puts up a trailer.
Most serious bidders don't bid until seconds from the end but a trailer would need to be viewed.

Edit - looked again and have reported to ebay for checking as collection is not an option. possibly a hijacked account?

I thought it looked like a hi-jacked account too. I emailed to ask to see it and pay cash upon collection and had a weird automated response.

You also don't normally need to click on a link to look at other pictures and to fill in a page with your details.

I tried to find it but couldn't!

But I would say anything where they ask you to complete details via a link - avoid! avoid! avoid!

I had my account hijacked once - was a pain in the behind. Checked my hotmail and I had about 20 emails from ebay confirming my listings. Loads of things like designer dresses and laptops selling in 24 hrs at start price of 1p! I was slightly panicked to say the least!

It looks like the pic that was on the ebay one

The page that you were directed to from ebay said the method of payment must be wire transfer from your bank account

Usually if something is too good to be true...... lol

I'm not surprised she's had lots of calls at that price.

I can't think how this particular scam works though - are they perhaps getting money via the phone line?

Yes it's weird. Maybe something to do with being able to trace your number if you call that one?

Maybe the ad can be reported to the website to state the phone number is wrong.
