Sam is 8 years old and a German Shepherd.
Last Friday he came staggering into the bedroom and was leaning on the bed as he walked. He then turned to leave the room and was leaning on the wall as he went. Out in the hall he collapsed. By the time I got to him, we got him standing upright. When walking he crossed his legs and was staggering but it quickly passed and he returned to "normal". We phoned the vet and got an afternoon appointment.
A checkup was done but due to him panting, generally being stressy and whining the vet struggled to hear his heart properly. They talked us through the possibilities of what it could be and we opted for a full blood works. Everything came back normal except kidney enzymes were high. A urine sample was put in next day and came back fine.
Sam has been back to himself since.
The heart blood test came back today as it had to be sent off. A normal sample is 900 and his is 1283. Muscle stress and a murmur are 2 things that were mentioned as maybes. The vet that does the scans is on holiday for 2 weeks so he is booked in for a scan on the 27th.
Has anyone had anything similar?
