I have a 2 year old jack bitch and a 7 month old patterdale dog (both entire).

My bitch looked like she was going to come into season about 3 weeks ago, swollen bits plenty of cleaning etc.. However - there has been no bleeding but her bits are still swollen but not as bad. She is now in the last couple of days looking a bit stuffy in the abdomen and nipples appear more prominant than normal.

You know where this is ging ..

Is it possible that they have mated without me knowing and if so would this have stopped the season before it properly got here ... he is 7 months old and I havent seen any mating but have caught him with his willy out twice. Surely I would have heard something.

Erm, have they been living together?!

Maybe he is too young but stranger things have happened... now may be the time to seperate them, I *think* she is more receptive towards the end of the season, I'm sure an expert here will tell you....

Yes, it is possible.

My female has been 'standing' for her own brother towards the end of her season, they have been kept seperate since they were puppies and they are never allowed to be together without supervision, for this very reason!

Oh yes, certainly possible!

YO's at previous yard kept dog and bitch (sadly brother & sister) together in a stable (PLEASE don't get me started on that bit!!) and they were surprised when a litter of oodles of pups ensued from 9 month old dogs.....

My friends great dane got to her german sheperd bitch without her knowing, the dog was 9 months old and the bitch was 3. they had 7 puppies! So yes possible!!
