I have been given a 4 yr old to back and break with the hope that he is going to turn out nice enough for me to buy however he had a accident back at his owners yard which he now has a lump on his leg from. I was told that he was possibly kicked but owners are unsure as they had been away so never spotted the injury till 2 days later. He had a cut just below his knee on his off fore and his whole leg had swelled to the size of a tree trunk! Owners had washed with hibi scrub but no further action was taken. I then had him about a month after the accident and started treating it. As the wound looked like it was going to be possibly proud flesh I put 50:50 calendula oil and manuka honey on it.
This was the wound about 6 weeks after it had happened and about a week after having the calendula and manuka on. After about 2 weeks of doing that I then started to spray it with alimycin and the wound dried up and healed quickly but there was still a lump
. I then cold hosed and ice packed for the next week or so but seen no improvements.
. He now has magnetic boots on at night to see if that will help. The lump is hard but not splint hard so do you think it tissue damage and will it ever heal? And what other things can I do or feed him to help it heal? I've been told things like comfrey, calc fluid(?) homeopathic tabs, rubbing aleo Vera into it. Would any of these help? I would quite like to try something over the winter to get rid of it otherwise we may possibly try laser. Any help or advise will be very much appreciated!! Thanks for reading
