Hi All.

I was hoping for some friendly advice.
I have been debating taking my trailer test or HGV, I have a horse box that takes 3 but I obviously can't drive it so have to rely on my dad and I hate asking him to take me places, So i was thinking about doing my trailer test as it is normally only two horses that go out together (15.3 and 14.2 so not huge!) and selling the horse box, but at the same time i wonder if i should just do the HGV - but the thought of towing a trailer doesn't bother me as much as the thought of being behind the wheel of a large lorry.

I'm just 22 years old. I just wondered if given a choice what you would all rather do?

Thanks =)

I have done my towing test. If I had the choice between towing or lorry I would definitely go for the lorry, though the test and training will me more expensive.

Cat C1 can be done for about £1000. Allows you to drive upto 7.5 ton. Test is done in a van basically so is very easy.

Cat C is hgv rigid upto 32ton. Done in a vehicle about 12ton so a bit tougher but pretty much same price as C1.

Trailer training and test about £500 quid.

I've done trailer test which I paid for. One days training and a test. Don't have to do a theory or anything for this. Was easy enough but I don't really like towing all that much. Got my C1 free through work. Had to do theory and hazard perception test.

I bought a 7.5ton lorry which I much prefer to towing.

If I had spent my own money would probably have done the cat C tbh
