Possibly the stupidest question ever about spurs

lol - if you wear spurs with chaps - do you put them on so the strap is under, or over the chaps/gaiters?

Over - I think you would struggle to have the point of the spur on the outside with the strap underneath wouldnt you?

Meh! That's what I thought.

Just switched to short boots & gaiters & I am too lazy really to take my spurs off my boots. But now I will have to! If you see what I mean. lol

I do both ! It doesn't make loads of difference to me.

At the moment I put them over because my chaps come undone and the strap just about holds it in place

I wear mine under - providing your chaps don't get in the way I don't think it makes much difference?

usually over the chaps although i have seen people have the chaps over the spurs
i think it would mainly come down to personal preference as really there is no wrong or right answer!

Same here, I have Ariat Classic Chaps and there is plenty of room to get spurs underneath them as they don't come down over your foot. Easier than struggling to pull spurs over chaps
