Depends where you are, what type of fencing is used (different types of both posts and rails) how many rails you have and so on. As a rough guide you're probably looking at about £5 a metre for erection only, (this could alter if you have 3 or 4 rails and which type) materials on top. Hope that helps.
I have just stolen another 2 of our hay fields for pasture. They are being fenced at the moment and after having had a load of post and rail fencing erected, I know how expensive it is. We have decided to fence these two fields with vinyl fencing - you may want to check out the prices of it as a comparison? I have gone for the stud fencing vinyl - the white rail with high tensile wire X3 running through it. Supposed to be very safe and has a good break-strength.
I am so sick of the rotten wood we have down here in Canada (we have great wood but that is all shipped to the States; so we have all the dregs here). I ordered my vinyl from the States at a quarter of the cost of the suppliers here in Canada....
i am thinking of fencing at the moment.i have post and rail around the small areas but for a long stretch i am considering round posts at 10ft and 3 strands of galvanised wire that i can electrify.
i`ve been told not to stretch it really tight cos it cracks the galv coating then rusts.but i think i will use the proper insulaters and strain the corners properly.the wire is sold by weight and the thinner one is best for electric.
