How long does it take for the lump to go down?
Hovis was chipped yesterday and was a really good boy.
By last night a large lump had appeared around the area where the chip is located looking like a big bite.
Just wondered how long it takes for that to go down?
I cleaned the area with a sterile wipe this morning so he'll let me touch it but its obviously rather sore.

None of our 4 had anything more than a soft bump over the area but we were warned about the danger of infection- Check for heat as this will give an idea whether is swelling or infection and if in doubt ring the vet for advice

T had the smallest of lumps - which I think was gone the next day.

Keep an eye on it - perhaps ring the practice if no better tomorrow just for some adivice and reassurance??

MAc a lumpy kind of horse , he came up with a sizeable bump that took a good two weeks to go down.

My horse had some generalised swelling for a few hours after the microchip was sited, but the next day there was no swelling or lump.

I'd give the vet a ring.

Eeeek ! non of mine had any kind of lump...........sorry !
