There was an excellent post in here a month ish ago setting out what everything you put in your lorry weighed. I.e. water, tack etc. I can't find it and was going to do some sums. Anybody brighter than me able to post a link please?

Thanks - will ask Rambo.

To see what you lorry weighs without the horses look at the brake printout you get when you plate it - if you can remeber how much stuff was in it when you got it plated it should give you an idea how much is left

Just had it plated so will check. Don't think the present lorry is too bad 5.8tonnes unloaded but with full fuel and water tanks.

Thinking of upgrading and trying to work out what the maximum weight should be if we want to take 2 eventing.

Well i've got to go get my HGV anyway, so was thinking what with the tightening of weights, it would be easier to get a bigger lorry and not worry about it.. but then it all costs money

of which i have the grand total of none

Unfortunatly the small HGVs 10t seem rare and are very expensive and I wouldn't want anything bigger. Rarely travel more than 2 but you would know how much junk gets packed!

Doubt I would pass HGV anyway!

My YO was pulled over on the way to Tweseldown last week and was overweight

Her 7.5 t lorry actually weighed 8.5 t with 3 horses in and tack etc. So basically 1 horse over. Luckily she was allowed to continue to where she was going and had to inform them when she got there and unloaded.
