I will be in touch with my vets in the morning, but as this isn't an emergency but I'd like to try and ease the problem if possible I hope some of you can help me out.
Background - On Sunday evening, whilst running in the field Bruce, my working cocker fractured his elbow...he went straight to my vet (who is also a friend) who immediately took him into the clinic, x-rayed and refered to a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. He was operated on monday afternoon and is now the 'proud' owner of a screw, 2 pins, some mesh and a plate in his left elbow. The actual wound is looking fine, and he is not bothering it at all (he is wearing a fetching t-shirt of mine ) but where he was shaved and scrubbed for the surgery he has patches of what I can only describe as razor burn and these are driving him mad - Is there anything I can put on the skin to soothe it that won't be detrimental to healing? I have Aloe Vera gel and hibiscrub here.... am thinking the hibi will be too harsh, but what about the Aloe?
Any help gratefully received, as he is not a happy spangle
Thanks
