For a small hunter trial, or up to pn, nothing. If they face a long journey home I will put stable/travel bandages on, and probably leave them on overnight. Novice upwards, withchazel and arnica gel, and probably bandages on top, definately if hard ground. I used to use Icetight, but after a long debate with the Fredericks' I concluded they were right in never putting it on, as it does work very well, to the point where it can cover up inflammation that can be the start of a tendon injury. They themselves (this was a couple of years ago) said they never put anything at all on legs, no gels/clays/bandages, not even after xc at championships, on the basis that they want to know if anything is flaring up in a leg...
After the usual walking, washing and rugging etc we use ice boots from fmb's for 20 mins after which we either bandage with witch hazel/arnica or just bandage and travel boot on top. next day check legs first thing and they have a nice day out in field weather permitting or a nice gentle 20 min hack. One of ours always gets windgally!
