Posted in error - sorry

I have been buying from Ebay since 2002 and I've never not had a parcel delivered..... until now.

I bought a couple of scarves on the 9th December as a Christmas present for my sister. They never arrived. I ask seller on the 18th if they have been posted, they confirm they have. Still no scarves by Christmas so I print off a picture of them and give it to her with an IOU.

Between Christmas and New Year I contact the seller again to say that I still don't have them. The seller immediately offered to send me replacements. A few days later they come back to me and say that one of the colours is no longer in stock and ask me for an alternative colour AND offering me a free one for my trouble. I thank them and say I'd like blue as the alternative and purple as the free one - as well as the red original one.

Today the package arrives - with 2 scarves in it - no free one.

Would you leave negative, neutral or positive feedback? What would you say? Would you go back and ask where the free one is?

I wouldn't give them negative as they do look like they have tried - just drop them a note thanking them but you hadn't recieved the last one they had offered?

I would leave positive, they have replaced the scarves for you, perhaps not your chosen colour for one but they have still sent them out without quibbling. The free one is between you and them so it is up to you really whether you contact them about it.

I would contact seller and ask where the free scarf is as you haven't received it.
As for the posting then I can vouch that if sent via royal mail before Christmas there were huge delays due to the weather as I encountered late parcels to me as a buyer and a couple of delays of items I sent to buyers. So if RM was used then it was not their fault about the delay, even though it may have affected your Christmas presents.
I would ask for the free one and give them up to week to send. If they don't then give neutral or negative feedback. In your message to the seller though do hint that you are unhappy. As a seller we cannot leave negative feedback so the ball is in your court and the seller does sound at fault to me because they should have honoured the 'freebie' for customer service reasons

EEEKKK

Sorry - I had no idea I'd get replies so quickly I just went in and deleted it!!!

Tonitot - I know it isn't the original because of the scarf colours.

Don't leave negative or even neutral as it affects their %ge.

They have definitely tried to sort out the problem. If you are that bothered then tell them they forgot to include the free one.

They sound like a good seller to me, at least they didn't fob you off with having to wait and see if the parcel arrives - Royal Mail are still sorting out their back log - you could end up with the original scarves too.
