Dog suffers from pancreatitis and vet has told me to give potatoes not rice in food. It might be a coincidence but the last few times dog has had upset stomach he has had potato the night before. Is there anything in them that could cause this or is it just coincidence ?

The person that knows your dog best is you.If you see a pattern then change the food. What about trying plain boiled pasta instead of potatoes?

Have you tried mashed sweet potatoes? My dogs have this and love it! I don't even peel them just rough chop, boil for 10 mins and then mash.....................

Boiled potatoes are fine for dogs, mine has one daily in with his food.He had routine blood tests recently and everything perfect. He is over 13 yrs.old and I reckon have found the best menu for him.Burns Penlan moist food mixed in with home cooked chicken, porridge and potato.

YES, dogs can eat potatoes. They must be peeled, washed, cut into smaller cubes and boiled before you can feed them to your dog. Small bites of raw potato can be fed to your dogs, but with extreme caution (as described below).

Why would you risk your dogs health by giving raw potato is beyond me.

I have never fed dog with raw potato. However after chat with vet tonight we have decided that although there should be nothing to irritate, we will cut out the spuds totally
