Turns out my Irish Bog Pony who I am aiming at surviving BE90 on has other ideas, I just have to figure out how to stay on

He performed some pretty impressive airs above ground on our "civilised" walk around the fields = Circus Pony
Decked me (excuse is - we were walking on the buckle, something in the hedgerow spooked him, and then the aformentioned airs above ground commenced) I popped off - very ungracefully and watched him gallop off into the distance
He then popped 2 5-bar gates to get back to the yard, no trouble at all :o potential 2*??!!

Thankfully some lovely gentleman was driving along the track, saw B gallop past and hurried to find me running back!! Lovely ladies at the yard caught him, took off his saddle which was now underneath him  and walked him off until I returned...

He is fine, has OR into his off fore just above his fetlock, but vet says its nothing to worry about, had some antibiotics but looks superficial, he also has a few other grazes where he went running though some brambles :(

He gave me a serious shock, but thankfully no one was hurt and he seems totally unphased, just wanted to go out and have a roll

Got home and found I had dirt in the most unmentionable places :D

Yeah, I will be fine, a few scratches, but I will live to fight another day!! Worst thing is - I lost my Ray Ban sunglasses in all the excitement - I will wonder off tomorrow (with out the horse!!) to see if I can find them!!

Losing the Ray Bans would make me cry. Mine aren't allowed near a horse.

Did your saddle survive? I rescued a loose horse off the side of a major road with its saddle under its stomach once. Luckily the horse was okay but when the horse was eventually reunited with its owner, I dreaded having to tell her the fate of her clearly new expensive saddle. :(

you have my sympathy.. Mine will do the same if given a long rein but behaves beautifully when on the bridle so no relaxing for me. Complete contrast I ride my mare (old lady) on a long loose rein but she has arthritis in her neck so I never ask her to bend her neck. Do forget some times till my boy reminds why he is better off being ridden up on the bridle!
