Potential Horse Has Same Name As Daughters...

Wouldn't bother me. I've got Ffion the dog who is 14 and Ffion the pony who is a relatively new addition. The dog now gets called Ffi (as she always did anyway) and the pony is never shortened. There is never any confusion. I have a daughter called Lucy and had a dog called Lucy as well and the dog just got called Lulu. Animals are rather more adaptable than humans.
 
Of my three, Dillon does still get called by his proper name, but Archie is usually called Harchie-pod (don't ask me why!), and Loulou was quickly referred to as the Princess due to her habit of rolling on feed buckets... She reminded me of the princess & the pea!!! None of them have a problem with names, even when referred to as the Clodhopper, the Princess, and the Dingbat!!
 
When my daughter Sophie was 3 her pony was called Caenn Sophie ( known as Sophie)...it was never really an issue and I would certainly not turn down a horse because of a name...:)
 
I agree with the others - change an element of the horses name and don't miss out on a good match for that reason alone. We recently sold a horse called Sarah to someone called....you guessed it! She changed the mare's name and it hasn't brought them bad luck!

No, but first I lost my horse and a few months later, my cat. I waited nearly a year then started looking around for a new cat. I wanted one from a sanctuary to give it another chance, and I wanted a black one because they are gorgeous, friendly and the sanctuaries struggle to rehome them. Lo and behold a gorgeous little sad-eyed black cat appeared on my local private sanctuary website - with the same name as my horse! Of course I had to have her, although I did change her name very slightly.
 
When I was 12 I had a loan pony for the summer called Charlie(Brown), my old dog was called Charley and my nickname was Charlie when I was younger. We were the three Charlie's/ey's and I loved it!
When at home me and the dog were called Charlie squared and when you shouted for "Charlie" or "Charley" we'd both come running, whether you wanted the dog or the child.

At the moment there's a horse who lives with mine called Henry, my cousins (almost) 2 year old is also a Henry and he giggles like mad when he either sees a picture of HenryHorse or in the flesh. He then points to HenryHorse and squeals "ME! ME!" His 4 year old sister helpfully corrects him by saying "No, silly! That's Henry the Horse, you're Henry my brother!"
I think your daughter will love it just as much :)
