potential new horse.Honest opinions please

I am currently looking for a new horse that I can eventually take bsja.I have been offered one quite cheap today and my first opinion is it doesn't scream buy me.I'm not too sure on her conformation either.She is 8yrs old and has been imported from Holland and they don't know alot about her which could be worrying.I'm not sure if the pics do her justice or not tbh and whether she may look better in the flesh or whether I would be better off just not bothering.

Im not overly keen on her..looks wise. But she may be an absolute jem

I wouldn't want her from that photo but it depends how much money you have and how much see is, how long ago was that photo taken?
 
Any idea WHY she was imported over here? Pic is not great as obv she has no condition and needs weight on her, but worth a look, you never know until you sit on and see if the click is there.
 
Sorry, does absoloutely nothing for me! Reminds me of our boy we've just bought for 1200, green as anything and never done anything proper.
However, maybe a sit on? Any more details?
 
looks long and low to me but you cant tell from a picture. my boy is a reject from holland ,takes a rubbish picture but blows you away in the flesh.go and see her , i was under the impression that the dutch try and breed quality and quantity so plenty of second class for those that cant afford top of the range.he also came with no papers ,i know i took a chance but for me it payed of .
 
hmm not my cup of tea - looks a bit long in the back and odd, but as said depends how cheap lol

I don't know anything about her breeding,just that she came from Holland recently and has bred a foal and only just been brought back into work.I guess that makes it understandable as to her lack of muscle but having a look at some other pics I have been sent she has an upside down neck as well as it being long.I think I'm going to have to pass on this one even though she has a lovely face,so its back to the drawing board.Thanks for the help.
 
personally i think you should go have a look. It is obvious from her piccy that she has no condition but I think the long back and long neck are purely a lack of muscle. I think that aside she has nice legs and a for me seems like she would scrub up really well with some condition. Louis looked like a gangly giraffe when I bought him but with some weight and muscle he looked liked a completely different horse. No harm in looking as she may look better in the flesh.
 
She has a good frame. If you can see past that she is not a ready made horse. With correct work could turn out nice. I sold 2 horses. When the people came to look at that them prefered one in the stable to the other both looked very different in shape (both were 16.2 grey irish geldings) But when ridden they prefered the one they didnt like in the stable!!

Skinny little thing. Could be quite nice if she was fattened and muscled up a bit....actually a lot!
 
She would have to be cheap, she is very weak looking, ie no muscel anywhere. She does not even look as if she moves well. The photo is not doing her any justice & I think she is going to need a lot of building up. I am really sorry to say she is what I despise about imports why import something like that? I really dont mean to be rude, but we dont need to be importing horses like this, does she have great breeding? Competition record? She certainly does not have good confirmation or paces judging by the photo (but it is not the best). I would not normally be so negative & in fact I have thought twice about this post, but if we have to import could we not bring in their best horses instead of their rejects!
 
Always worth a look.

How often do you hear people say of their most beloved or successful animal that they nearly didn't bother to go and see them.
