Thanks for all the response!
He's spent the first four years of his life in a field, then was put into a yard in Ireland to be broken and prepared for sale. The people who i've bought him off (yes i've bought him!!) said they saw him pop a single 2ft 9 fence easily so he may have done some basic jumping. He was then brought over and did a little intro dressage test locally where he was very well behaved, very 4 year oldy and wobbly so no signs of intensive schooling.
He's such a little powerhouse and is very light infront, has hardly been schooled since being over here but goes beautifully and tries really hard.
As regards to being small, he is quite slight but i am 5ft 11 so prob make him look small. A half sister by Harlequin du carel was also at the yard where i bought him, she's a 5 year old and is 16.1 but really filled out so hoping he'll go the same way. I didn't want something big as i would rather be on top of him than struggling with some big rangey horse.
I think he just needs a bit of time, some good food and a bit of love and he'll be great! Have been hacking him out by himself and he's good as gold, goes through water, didn't bat an eyelid at 3 horses going the other way on a hack, busy traffic, weird things in hedges, reindeers etc etc and has been completely unfazed by anything so far.
He's also very cuddly which helps
Very excited about him!
Thanks again
