Potential problem with new horse...

As far as I know the best thing to do with warts is absolutely nothing! Ours has very very tiny little ones - in fact vet doesn't know if they are even warts. They have not changed/grown in over 5 years, we just check them for any changes but there is no reason why they would grow.

Even if they do grow the general advice is to leave alone unless they are affecting the horse and then they can be removed if needs be.

I would be very surprised if whoever did the vetting did not pick up on these if you think you can see them. Sounds like more likely to be connected to the dirty sheath and possibly where flies have been getting at him - ie simple fly bites!

I am sure once your vet has seen him, he has been cleaned up he'll let you know for sure and you can stop worrying!

They are definately on his willy - you can only see them when he's got it hanging out. I shouldn't think he had his willy hanging out when he was vetted. He is very protective over it hence the vet visit to have it cleaned under sedation!!

Do you think he could be toe dragging because he's always been ridden in a school & in an outline so when he's out on the road in a longer outline, he doesn't support himself? Does he drag his toes when he's not being ridden?

Being fussy about picking up his hind feet might just be him being awkward, rather than a symptom of anything more serious. Quite often, IME, busy people in big yards are not particular about picking out feet and he may just not be used to it.

Clicky joints are quite normal - particularly in young horses.

What sort of noise does he make after cantering? Does he make it while he's cantering or just afterwards?

Since you bought him from a professional, you should be covered by the Sale of Goods Act - but having had him 5 stage vetted, that seems to negate any claim you might have which should have been brought up by the vetting - unless his bloods come up positive.

I would get a second opinion if you're really worried - and contact the sellers with your concerns - see what reaction you get from them. Did they offer any form of warranty?

get in touch with the vet that did the 5 stage vetting! (you did pay a lot of money for a professional unbiased vetting)tell them you are not happy and get that particular vet to come and re assess him. or take him to that vet practice for that vet to re assess! the splints and scar are not an issue, the coughing and making a noise is! the dragging of toes is an issue. good luck and do it tomorrow, time is of the essence! as you bought him from a professional is he fit for purpose? sale of goods act etc? keep vendor informed nicely about your concerns.
