Poultice sock

No but I have one similar which has velcro at the top. No idea what make, can check tonight if you like, bought it years ago though. By far the absolute best boot ever that was perfect to use for turnout - mare ended up with an abscess then got cellulitis so had to be turned out.

This sounds like a professional version of my efforts with a sports sock and duct tape. I wonder how easy It is to get of and on?

What size / type / length sports sock works? Football length? Or mid length? Any chance of a link and suggestion for a 16.2hh horse? I’m looking to put nappies underneath.

I wash and dry with nappies all 4 feet about every 2 weeks before applying hoof armour. Need to be v clean and dry to work. I’m looking to streamline process!

Thanks

Think some trimmers in states use a blow torch and or alcohol to speed up drying. My trimmer reckons risk of damaging feet too high. Hence nappies which dry in a few hours.

Interestingly I've seen them mostly used in the very hot dry states and it makes them a bit softer to trim.

The tubbease definitely look interesting though, might be ok to get on as rubber dipped so not hard plastic (though they look it). I'd definitely be tempted to try one given its somethign you are doing regularly.

I use hoof boots for turning out. Poultice and Vetrap to hold it in place, no nappy or padding. Stayed on in mud. Took boot off when in, (with new dressing) to make sure it dried.
