Poulticing

Sorry for the silly question, but............

What is the difference between hot, cold and dry poulticing?

Please.

Hot poultice:

either bran
bread
animalintex
all the above have hot / boiling water added squeezed out and applied to wound then bandaged.


dry:
usually dry animalintex or equivalent applied to wound then bandaged, the dry one is normally applied after there is no more or hardly any more pus coming out its there to soak any tiny bits. Before dressing removed altogether
