I've been given some powdox for my horse due to infection it says 50mg twice a day someone on our yard said I can give the 100mg in one dose is this right ?

I've been given the same and told 50 ml twice a day for 10 days.
I believe it is a bitter taste so mixed it with a couple 9f spoons of apple sauce and mixed it in his feed. I'm relieved to say he ate the lot.
