Purchased some of this fly repellant the other day and it does seem to do the job quite well however I got some on my face and it really felt uncomfy, I know horses skin is much harder baring then mine but I'm slightly concerned that my wetty TB might be irritated by it. Any input would be great....

My friend bought some of this but it did make her thin skinned TB come up in lumps fairly quickly which took a day or two to disappear. I have used it very cautiously on my horses (Welsh-D, Anglo-arab cross and a part ID cob) with no problems. Old Welsh-D has sweet itch so is in a fly-rug and a face mask 24/7. I wipe a small amount of fly repellent around his sheath once or twice a week as he had midge bits there and it did seem to help. The smell really lingers and I avoid getting it on my skin as it is quite unpleasant.

I found that it gave me a migraine when I used it (on the horse, I hasten to add!)
If you're hoping it works for horse flies, it didn't :(
It is one of the better repellents however...

I have a bottle for the days Jay is driven insane by flies, but mostly I just use rugs. I have had a horse affected by spray (although not this one) and so use sparingly.

My horse came up in huge lumps yesterday after using this and Barrier fly spray. Not sure which caused the problem as I have been using both for some time.

Love it, it's the only thing I've found that works. No adverse reactions but we have a little cob who is tough as old boots. I must be strange because I actually like the smell of it!

I use the gel on my mares sensitive bits - not had any problems and she's got very delicate pink skin. It smells awful but it does seem to work! Have also tried barrier hygiene and various NAF gels/creams but the all burn her skin quite badly.
