PP Vetting - Equine vet near…

Appleby magna, twycross - that sort of area.

to do a PP vetting & take bloods.

Recommendations!

Thanks
Just my area- Simon shone @ Averley equine would be my recommendation a very local. You or also try Gil Riley who may come that far for a vetting (based nearer Nottingham). Other clinics within shouting distance would be Chine House, Town and Country in Market Harbourough, Pool House in lichfield or 365 vets.

I have used most of those at some point. Feel free to PM if you want any more detail?

I have used Bryan Hallows who is a retired vet I believe, who now only does vettings. So never any conflict of interest. He’s done a few for me and I’ve found him to be sensible and practical. Not sure how far he’d cover but you could ask?

About 3 miles from me!
Defintely Simon Shone from Averley equine would be my first choice for very local. Or Simon Turner from Chine House Equine. Both extremely good vets and very relistic and practical.

Good luck.

Bryan Hallows, that’s a well respected name from the past!

He is, um, quite mature. I’m now an OAP and he’s 20 years older than me! Good on him if he’s still out there getting hands on with horses.
Oh gosh really? We’ve never actually met but he’s done 3 for me over the past 2 years that I’ve bought unseen. He’s been lovely to deal with and very practical and realistic with horses and expectations. I hope he won’t be giving up anytime soon!!

I'd get a quote from Eric Gillies they go North / South all the time. The last time I used them was about 3 years ago but the cost was very reasonable on a shared load. They brought my not very well handled, never previously loaded or travelled 2 yo no problem.

Perfect!
Do you know if they have a 7.5 as I won’t get a big lass down our lane

They have a website so you need to ask what's available. If you are part of a shared load, the date / time is not flexible, I had to wait for a slot which wasn't an issue as my horse was still with the breeder so I paid a couple of weeks livery. It's worth being aware if the seller wants the horse moved quickly.
