Prascend effects in Manure?

Hiya, not sure if this is the right thread and it’s a rather obscure question. I have a little 12.2 pony with cushings and is doing well on Prascend; he is in small paddocks that we meticulously poo pick - so we have a decent amount of manure to use.

We’d really like to use this manure on our vegetable garden. Does anyone know if this will be bad for us to use for growing our food? I know prascend is not good for humans to consume when it’s in pill form, but surely once it’s decomposed in the manure, rained on, etc, it would be fine?

Any insight would be great, thanks!

It's weird I was thinking about this just last week as my dogs regularly snack on my horses droppings and one of mine is on prascend, and honestly never thought about it until now although I'm careful when worming with picking it up.

But my horrors go scavenging on the muck heap as well so I try to bury it a bit as they tend to like the fresh stuff.

I've never really thought about the manure aspect for gardens either to be honest I have no idea sorry.

Haha dogs are such disgusting little angels - ours do this too and I was worried about it too. I’ve just being doing some digging on the internet and apparently pretty much all of the prascend gets absorbed and whatever is left would be such a minuscule percentage of the manure it really doesn’t matter.

Horses produce ‘22,700 grams of manure a day compared to 0.001 (one one-thousanth) gram dose of pergolide in one pill.’
So I think I’ve answered my own question 😂

Thanks that's made me feel alot better about the prascend, and yes I think yours will be fit for the garden.

On a more disgusting note I was cleaning my horses sheath last week and the bits that were dropping on the floor were obviously treats for the little horrors🤮

I had to shut them away and clean it all away before they were let out and they were hunting everywhere for it.

If you, or your hay supplier, use weed killer, then the manure may prove detrimental to certain vegetables anyhow.
