prascend/pergolide

What's all this about Pergolide being withdrawn for horse treatment and the much more expensive Prascend being prescribed? I notice it seems to be sold in 1mg tablet form but my horse only has 75 micrograms per day so where would that leave me? Guess I will be ringing my vet after the weekend.

pergolide is a human drug and hasnt got a licence to be used on animals. pergolide is being withdrawn for human use so will no longer be available.
prascend is exactly the same as pergolide but has been licensed for use in animals so unfortunatly they can put a higher price tag on it.
i have just got 30 1mg tablets of prascend from my vets for £35 + vat
