My vet has told me the patent is expiring soon so the price should come down- although as everything seems to be getting more expensive it might not !

Quite simply because the price that the vets pay to their wholesaler to buy the Prascend in is CONSIDERABLY higher than £1.10 per tablet!

It’s a shame they can’t buy it off the internet too ?

My vets are CVS as is Animed Direct. I’d assume CVS would do a group deal so that all their companies could buy it from the wholesaler at a good price.

My vets do a price match on that and also bute, so I’d hope they weren’t making a loss. ?

I have had to pay it as it is as this is what their suppliers have charged them. They do not have the need or storage for the amounts they'd have to bulk buy to offer discounts like the online suppliers. However, in light of the price rise they are from now advising their clients to get a prescription and source online instead. They could not say why the price had gone up so much.
I have spoken sternly to the pony and told him he's NOT to spit out his pill under any circumstances, now I have had to pay so much for them.
