So my poor chap has had a week of being poked and prodded! Dentist at start of week, had virtually no lateral movement in lower jaw which dentist has sorted so he should be alot happier in his mouth.
Had a mc timmony chiropractor out today and he had a locked poll, misaligned pelvis and couple of other things wrong. He is off for next few days and I've to bring him back into work slowly .

Now obviously I'm on top of any issues is there any exercises people suggest I do with him before riding to help relax the appropriate muscles? and any exercises post riding?

I don't have any advise re exercise but I would always stretch either at the end or after a good warm up stretching cold muscles is likely to do more damage than relax them.

My horse was treated to a massage last week and was given a few stretches to do. Stretch all legs forwards at the angle of movement (don't lift the legs higher than they would move naturally) then carrot stretches! Only stretch after exercise though.

Dont use a chiro but do use an equine bodyworker who does massage and the difference after she's worked on the hoses is tangible. Any exercises need to be based around helping whats been treated or maintainance so speak to the person who treated your horse for this
