hi there
my mare is 4 years and she is 7 months pregnant. what nurtients and feed should i use to make sur ethat the foal is big and healthy.
currently i use barley, hay and sometimes fruits like apples and carrots. is this enough?

Ideally, you'd be supplementing with vitamin E for the immune system, and copper and zinc for the foal's skeletal development. You'd also be wanting to supplement selenium, but that depends on how much there is in your grazing (or where your hay was grown).

In some countries, they also supplement calcium and/or phosphorous but that depends on your grazing again. My understanding though is that barely doesn't contain much of either, so might be worth looking into in this case.
