Ok, I've decided against Hamlet (which I really like) because here it will be pronounced with a really strong H, something like a cat coughing up a furball

SOOOO, these are the ones I like so far, with a rationale (of sorts) behind each one

Toscano; an Italian cigar. I think it has a nice ring to it
Partagas; sounds a bit like the fifth musketeer which I'm not sure about...
Macanudo; a Dominican cigar, but 'macanudo' is also Argie slang for 'friendly/likeable/agreeable'
Cubano; not a cigar, but I like how it sounds. Here we tend to put an article (in this case el or la =the) in front of a horse's name so he would be 'The Cuban'
Cigarro; spanish for 'cigar'. I think it sounds better in English

I also LOVED Habas Fritas (I love habas as well) but PF is now officially Charlie Big Potato - If anyone can think of a potato theme (NOT King Edward, or Spud, please!!

Toscana. I have to choose that as I named one of my homebreds, years ago,Tosca, and I love that name.

Re. Potato name, how about Frederico, as in Frederic the Great, who STILL has people leaving potatoes on his grave (after 250 years) for introducing them to Germany?

I've done a bit of research on potatoes!

The scientific name for a potato includes 'Solanum'
Potato came from the spanish word 'Patata'
In France it is commonly referred to as Ground Apple which is 'Pomme de Terre'.
It also went on about 'Enzyme' which i think it a cool name!

I then looked up cigars and found out that Christopher Columbus introduced to Europe. So 'Columbus'

The largest Cigar can be found in 'Skansen'
The most common shape of cigar is the 'Parejo

The different names for cigar wrappers are:

Claro, Colorado, Colorado Claro, Colorado Maduro, Maduro and Oscuro.

Think my fave is actually Enzyme!
 
I have voted Toscana as of all the names there that is the one I like best, although I think it is more of a girls name!

Please do not call him Partagas, ireminds me too much of the Spanish for parrot Papagaya.

I still like Monte Christo butI shall go and do more research as this little chap deserves the best name!
 
I voted for Cubano as I can quite easily see him strutting across a field as 'The Cuban' with tail in the air and ears pricked

Ok, little bit of research for Mr Special!

Cigars are named for their size regarless of brand, then some manufacturers give them their own name to. So te following is copied from a size chart.....

Corona 5 ½ to 6 42 to 45
Panatela 5 ½ to 6 ½ 34 to 38
Lonsdale 6 to 6 ½ 42 to 44
Churchill 6 ½ to 7 46 to 48
Robusto 4 ½ to 5 48 to 50
Toro 6 to 6 ½ 48 to 50
Presidente 7 to 8 ½ 52 to 60
Torpedo
(Cone Shaped Head) 5 ½ to 6 ½ 46 to 52

Of those I like Robusto but better still Presidente. El Presidente. Very fitting. Right off for more research!

Well, not having another for a while and he's the ONLY son of Habano in Cordoba so Edicion Limitada is rather good
