I have listed two saddles for sale on preloved one is a brand new never been sat on treeless saddle, the other is a used albion selecta. I have listed both honestly with full descriptions and photos of the treeless. The reason for sale is that my pony who is 21 has ruptured his tendon and may not be rideable again. the treeless was bought to ride a firends pony on who doesnt fit my slecta, but firends pony went lame as well...

so far I have had over 8 people send a string of emails asking about the treeless ending with something along the lines of great I will buy it from you now if you will accept paypal. I have agreed and then guess what not a single one has paid or even had the manners to respond to my email asking if they still want it.

Oh I alos had alady ask if it would fit her bum (size 18 apparantly) and definetly stop her sway backed 14 hh arab who was 23 years old from bucking her off as last time she broke her ribs! I replied 'I suggest you get out a qualified equine osteopath and a master saddle fitter!'
Is this normal for preloved its getting me increasingly stressed!

I just got emails asking me if I wanted to buy a trotter when I had my 3 yr old sporthorse/eventer listed! When I said no & asked her (very nicely) not to contact me again trying to sell her horses to me she got nasty. Not like I went on there trying to buy, I was on there to sell. Then because there was a dealer close by in the same town advertising a lot I put in ad that I was a private seller & not a dealer, to get an email from dealer asking me to remove that from my ad. Not sure why it affected them in anyway. Just a good thing you can block people for when you get this kind of rubbish being sent through to you.

how strange I used it at the suggestion of a friend to find a ride when my boy was off for 6 months got about 10 messages in the following week all with amazing offers exactly what i was looking for and all couldnt have been more helpfull in pointing me in the right direction why dont you contact the original people and ask if they are still interested maybe they forgot?

I've got 9 secondhand rugs, 3 saddles and various side saddle clothing items on there for a friend who is giving up and having a clear out, the lady is elderly and won't post anything so it's local pick up only and that is stated in LARGE writing on each item description.I have lost count of the amount of people who have asked me all the usual stupid questions like what size and colour is it when it is written clearly infront of their eyes to see as well as "how much to post to wherever"?
I give up!
Worse than people on ebay

LOL!

I have sent follow up emails to everyone who contacted me, so far one has responded, made an offer which I accepted and guess what two days later still hasnt paid or reemailed me! I even follow up called two, one had their answer phone on, left a message, didnt call me back, ditto the other one accept that I did get through once and they cut me off!

I also put that I wont drive to show it to people, they are welcome to come and view it - gues what one email wanted me to drive 35 miles to a motorway junction 7 miles from them so they could view it. What bit of I wont drive implied that!

I must admit, I want the side saddle items you have listed and was tempted to email you and ask "would you consider posting, I will pay" as I live too far from you to collect but figured you must be inundated with that request so never bothered! :D If she ever decides to post, let me know as I'm a serious buyer and don't mess about.

I had my side saddle listed on there until the other day when one of my friends in the US bought it from me and I kept getting ads of "Is is still available" only for them to disappear when I said "yes, it is". Sheesh.

Likewise, I emailed a seller on there regarding something I wanted to buy and it turns out it was available and would have paid their asking price only for them to disapear when I asked how they would like to be paid. I'm willing to GIVE people money and then they disappear, lol!

Glad its not just me! I placed an ad for an elderly farmer friend for a couple of young native ponies he had to place. Got texts at all hours asking if they were available. I didnt bother to reply to those...and then another ad for a fish-tank someone wanted me to deliver it. The perturbing bit about that was once Id said no, they continued to ring and text at all hours.

Very wary now about putting my mobile number in an ad.

lol, don't worry I'm used to it now, if they were my own items I would post them but the lady will not post, as she is trying to move so has alot on her plate.
All the details are on my website as well, so feel free to have a look, see if you could find someone nearer to come and have a look. it was just a favour for her to help out but no takers so far!
I'll PM you details

I prefer Ebay to sell my stuff on. So much easier and less stupid questions.

I once tried to sell my tbx yearling on preloved. The amount of timewasters I had was unbelievable. I had people asking me if he was backed (he was ONE!), and I even had a family come to view him to see if he'd be suitable for their 10 year old daughter to handle (even though my ad clearly stated he's going to make 17hh) and then chastised me when he spooked as she was leading him. Tbh suicide would be less painful.

I gave up in the end. I've still got him. It just seems an easier option than dealing with morons.

As nice as it is because you don't have to deal with listing fees and final values fees etc...it is a pain in the bum!

I was trying to buy a new hacking jacket off there and took me ages to find one. One lady told me she would sell to me and asked me to send her my paypal email. I did then she emailed to say sorry she'd sold it!

When I was selling my old hacking jacket on there I vowed I wouldn't do the above. However, on 3 occasions I had people email, say they would come and collect on the Saturday (this happened 3 Saturday's in a row!), I would wait in all day and then not hear from them. One lady I emailed to say "can I assume the lack of contact means you aren't interested" to have her reply saying "oh yeah sorry my boyfriend bought me one". Really had to resist the urge to email back saying thanks for making me wait in all day for you!

Back to ebay for me.

I seem to attract them on preloved and ebay, the ones with the stupid questions and non paying bidders (on ebay) and when I have put things on freecycle effectively giving them away free I still get people who say they want it and not turn up, no explanation, no apology, after I had been sat waiting in for them.

A string of timewasters also for a treeless saddle!!!!!!! I cant even sell a lovatt and rickets for £80 except from some stupid teenager whose mummy wud only lend her £50 for a saddle and someone in france who needed to measure her horses gullet.....

No, I also have had my fair share of numpty's when selling saddles/rugs/clothing etc. Classic was one who asked if I could post my rambo rugs to her to try on the horse (without paying for them in advance..!) and if she wanted them she would keep them, otherwise I would have to go and pick them up!
Pretty sure I didn't state 'MUG' in big letters in the advert but hey ho!

Although one lady bought an albion jump saddle from me; and paid for my fuel to meet her halfway so she could collect saddle (albeit relatively near to home) which I didnt mind!
