Hi
Has anyone got one of the new Premier Equine Buster rugs? Are they good? looking at a 0g with neck in which I can add liners but I have read quality isn't quiet as good? 860 denier... is that going to be completely water proof?
hmmmm

I think I have one of these, brought last year and used all over winter. Great rug, VERY strong velcro to attach the neck (and i mean seriously strong) I rarely used the neck as my horse wasnt clipped, wouldnt melt if he got wet and I value a horse with a mane come end of winter but yes, great rug.

ah brilliant, its been sitting in my online shopping basket all morning while I decide if its good enough :'D

It rubbed, it got seriously heavy when wet and always dangled to one side. Took forever to dry. I was so unimpressed and it just wasn't worth the money.

do you have a go to for rugs? im looking for a 0g I can put liners under but to be honest when looking for option to add liner rugs there isn't to much choice :/

that is the impression I get, but the people that hate them seem to realllllly hate them lol!
im not sure if they are maybe built more for big fine horses and my cob might be a bit swamped :/

I keep finding myself looking at Rambos but they are just soooooo much money.
Premier Equine are a funny brand, people either really love or hate them.
I have two Busters and I'm in the love category!

I'm a PE fan, best fitting rugs on my coblet. I don't have the 0g Buster though - but I have the 40g, 200g x2, 300g and 450g that are all from the Buster range and they have been fabulous. So I have no reason to think the 0g would be less good. I think I have had my oldest one about 7 years and it is still a fair condition for a rug that has been very well used.

I'm a fan, though do agree they are heavy when wet (but then again, so are most rugs I've seen!). I've heard some people have had issues with them leaking but I haven't experienced that. My 0g is an amigo, but I don't rate it at all, it leaks and ripped within 2 months, and will probably replace it with a PE one at some point.

I really hate them. Much too heavy, even when dry. Yes, they are strong, but having several horses to rug up twice a day, the PE Buster one is the one I hate having to do. Can't be as comfortable for the horse either being that heavy.

Amigo Bravo 12 take liners and are 1200D. I am not a PE fan myself, I find them heavy and it irritates me that they fasten the wrong way at the front, although I know some people love them.

If you fancy a Rambo but your eyes water at the price, you could have a look for second hand? Some of them are trashed but there are lots in great condition. They do hold their value well though.

I have had mine for 4 years now... love it, Its unidentifiable as a Red rug now and totally encrusted in mud lol, I have aneck rug and 100g and 200g liner to go with it. I wouldn't be without it.

I use it as it was meant to be used - essentially one rug throughout autumn/winter/spring - It has never leaked, never need repairing, all the fastenings are still in excellent condition, the velcro on the neck rug is super strong still. I love how deep it is - covering his tummy, the liners fit nicely and easily and stay in place and are easy to wash.

These rugs are a bit heavy when wet, but the horse stays dry and toasty so it dries off in no time if left on. As mine wears the rug outside and in the stable I certainly don't have any issues with it taking too long to dry. I don't do rug swapping at night and have long since done away with stable rugs because I detest putting on a damp rug in the morning and lets face it in the winter unless you leave the rug on the horse or have a heated rail - all rugs are going to be wet/damp to put on the horse in the morning.

My only issue with these rugs would be the material that they use on the liners - If i had one gripe it would be that its a bit fragile. I mean, I still have the liners that i bought four years ago, the fit nice, they wash well, but I learnt in the first year that you have to take extra special care of them. They are not the kind of thing you can fling over a partition or stable door as the material will catch on even the smoothest of wood and snag. So if you go for this - I would say be pretty religeous about your liners - if they are not on the horse, store them in their bag - of course, I got my liners 4 years ago so the material may well be a bit more robust nowadays.

I love these rugs and wouldn't buy anything else - in fact if I had one other issue it is that they last so damn long I haven't needed a new rug in 4 years apart from buying a rain sheet for him - which barely gets used anyway! So my rug buying fetish is suffering lol!

I waited to buy during one of their sales and used their facebook promo code too - it came out very reasonable considering you are buying everything you could need

Loved the original old rugs, still have some in use, can't stand the new ones, sold it after a weeks use, will never buy them again, have now invested in Bucas Power, expensive but excellent quality and have worked really well on a variety of shaped horses

All my rugs are now Rambo and rhino. I have the no fill and wug and I can't believe how light the wug is all the time. Had one with my old boy and bought another for the mare. Dry overnight, never damp like the buster. Worth the extra for the wug for me anyway. I remember one winter I couldn't get up the hill and the rug was still on straight, all surcingles in place after three days, no leaks no rubs.

total rubbish, just so heavy when wet, took 2 to lift it. Not waterproof. Lasted one year and I scrapped it. Should have bought a rambo to start with. Would have been a lot cheaper in the end.

I have one on a TB and one on a cob! Both fit beautifully, never rub and never move.
I must admit both also have a Rambo and I do love them too! They are a different class however that's reflected price wise.
I also prefer the neck covers on PE
