Hello

I have brought some of the PE cold boots - the ones you soak in water to activate crystals. Any idea how they work and if they are meant to feel cold to the touch like putting ice packs on would? Mine tonight (1st use) didnt feel cold to the touch and after 15 mins on my horses legs both the legs and boots felt warm not cold to the touch?

Thanks in advance.

I have some, I soak them in very cold water (straight out of tap) and put bucket in a cool place whilst soaking. They don't get cold like ice packs would but do feel cold to the touch and this lasts for the 20 minutes you are supposed to leave them on for. I seem to remember that you have to soak them for 24 hours the first time? Then 60 minutes thereafter do they need soaking for longer?

We have a pair, and use them mainly at BE events - put them in a bucket with ice packs in the water (usually for a couple of hours) and the boots get VERY cold, first thing we do after removing brushing boots when back from XC is put the cold boots on, then once we have washed off horse and walked round they come off, and get put back in cold water in case heat shows up once the legs have "come back to temperature". They are brilliant
