I have never had any premier equine rugs but I was thinking of getting the old section A one. I was looking at the Pony Buster Titan 200g, she has a heavyweight Rhino which she rarely needs and a mark todd medium pony combo where the rug fits her well but the neck is really long so we end up putting an amigo lightweight Over the top to hold the neck back. All these rugs are 5', and are "generous" size wise. She is only 11.3 but a real old fashioned leg at each corner type. I have heard that premier equine come up big so I was wondering if I should go for 4'9" which she wears in weatherbeeta rugs. She lives out so I do like them generous as I hate to see her bottom sticking out!

So this was rather more epic than I planned to ask a fairly simple question!

I also have a chunky 11.2hh welsh section a who usually wears a 5' in amigo and mark todd, but he has a 4'9 PE rug that is very generous on him so I would go down to a 4'9- my pony would be swamped in a 5'!

They are very generous. I have a brand new 5ft6 for sale as I've sold the horse it was for and it is bigger than a 5ft9 amigo so I would definitely go down a size.

To be honest I find them spot on size wise. My sec a (11.2hh) is in 4'6 & my full up 12hh SP is in 4'9.

I have the FULL range of PE rugs for my ponies. Top quality rugs. Love them.

I'd say they are spot on. I made the mistake of ordering a size down because I heard the horse rugs were generous. Sadly all my new rugs are 'sufficient' in size but by no means generous. Wish I had ordered the right size now.

Someone gave me the 'heads up' on another forum that they think they are spot on (I think it may have been the poster above from Yorkshire!) but I had already put the order in

Interesting how different people have found the sizing. Colouredwelsh- your 11.2hh is in a 4'6 PE and mine is in a 4'9 (usually a 5ft)- perhaps a different build? To be honest I reckon a 4'6 would only just be too small on mine- his 4'9 is very deep on him and covers a lot of him so a 5' would be massive even though that's his normal rug size in other brands. Also, not as much difference between a 5' and a 4'9 as say a 4'9 and a 4'6, especially in length.

Lol Welsh D. Yep that was me!!!!

My PE is generous, not too big, the neck is fairly long (looks puffy!) and it is deep so good belly-warmer! My boy modelling his, 5'6'' 300g last time we had real snow (early 2013)...

I also didn't find them big enough to go a size smaller.

Shetland stallion is in 5ft PE rug, same size as his Rambo, Shires etc. the 4ft9 will go on him but it's a snug fit around the bum
