Premier equine rug sizing

I think it depends on your horse tbh. If a native / heavier built horse I’d say they’re true to size but if something lighter built then may be sensible to size down.

I’ve found with the Welsh D & Highland that I could squeeze them into the next size down but that the “correct” size fits better.

I find the turnouts deep and long but not necessarily generous in the neck so for my previous horse his usual size was too tight round the neck but came down to his knees. That was a tb but wide and deep round the chest/girth.

Turnout rugs are generous - I stick with the same size but expect them to come up deeper
I have big boned ISH's and they are the best fit on them of any rug
They keep them dry in all weathers.

They are very generous in terms of depth - weatherbeeta rugs look like mini skirts on my big lad but the PE titan is a good fit.

I’d say they are maybe a tad bigger than other brands length-wise but not massively so. They’re good for horses with bigger shoulders, as are the swish rugs.

When I swapped all of mine to PE they were all still in the same size.

If you buy a Premier Equine in 6.6 and have a horse with a long neck, ask them to ensure they send a large neck cover. They have a tendency to send out the medium ones which are too short for anything with a normal length of neck.
I have been a customer of theirs for 20 odd years. A few years ago they stopped sending the large size necks out on request with the larger size rugs. I now buy necks from Swish Equestrian, they fit the PE rugs and I can buy two XL for the size of one PE neck.
