Hi, I am looking for a new heavyweight turnout and wonder if the Premier Equine rugs come up bigger or smaller than others? I currently use Rambo rugs which fit but are v expensive....

They definately come up bigger, we have about 20 horses wearing them here and I always order them one size smaller.

After speaking to the lady on the phone I ordered the same size my horses usually have and they fit nicely :) there are some pics in picture gallery under 'overdue pics of new arrival 2yo hanoverian filly' (or something like that!) photos are on my 7yo mare if that helps for how big they will come up on horse if you order normal size. Lady from PE said the depth is generous but they measure 6ft 3 down the length exactly on all their rugs so you could always get a measuring tape on your horse? Mine certainly arent too long (a buster trio and a 100g stable). Weirdly the stable is a little more generous (i put it on the tighter fastening on the front) but still in a nice snuggled way rather than being too long and hanging off the back. Im going to order some 450g stables from there in jan hopefully in their sale :) i really like my rugs :)

Paddy measures 6.3 but the horseware rugs i've got for him are 6.6 and they fit lovely , when i ordered my PE 70x i did order his correct size 6.3 and it fits lovely , it is still generous length wise but not floppy at the neck end ..

Three of mine all take 6' 6" in Rambo, Mark Todd, JHL rugs but 6' 3" in Premier Equine rugs fit nicely - none of them are chunky types but not super fine either 2 are warmblood x tb types (16 amd 16.2hh) and the other is a fairly lightly built hanovarian (16.1hh)

My horse has a 6'3 Rambo Duo and has just been lucky enough to win a PE Winter Buster (450g) rug through Premier Equine's Facebook page competition! :D (huge thank you to PE!) Here's a shot of her modelling it this morning, I went for the same size in it and it fits great. Wouldn't want it shorter as then her bum would get cold!

(she is not very impressed at being made to stand and pose when she'd rather be trooping out to the field this morning! ;) And the shoulder dart sits better when you take the plastic tag off! :o)

My horse is somewhere between a 6ft9 and 7ft... I have most rugs in a 6ft9 and they're always just a bit too shorts. I've got a couple in 7ft and they're a bit too big (long and around the chest). I bought a PE in 6ft9 and it's absolutely spot on everywhere. So I think they come up a bit big but not next-size-up big, if that makes sense.

One thing to remember is that unlike Rambos, PE rugs are adjustable at the front. The straps can be adjusted by four or five holes, and there are two different D rings that you can attatch the straps to.

The PE are deep but not over long. I am disappointed with how short (depthwise) my new Duo is, Rambos are not what they used to be  :(
