Premier Equine Rugs

I've got three PE rugs. One stable and two turnout.

Great value for money imo. I have the lightweight TO and a MW TO. Buy the size you need, but they are generously cut, so ideal for the bigger horse.

I won't bother buying PE again, made the mistake once and gave them benefit of doubt. Second chance not much better. I'd rather pay a bit more for Rambo's

www.molevalleyfarmers.com have got a really good deal on the real McCoy - Rambo Duo with an extra liner free so you get the outer rug and the 200g liner and a 100g liner for about £250 - that means u can have a lightweight, medium weight or heavyweight. It was in their mail order catalogue that was in H&H a couple of weeks ago

We have been really pleased with our PE rug, we use it on our big boy mouse, who is a 19.2 shire x, so is great if you have a bigger horse!!

I also really like the PE rugs - I have 4!

another vote for PE rugs !!!!.
Ive got the rain-sheet
a medium and two heavyweights
and a fleece ( you can never have too many rugs LOL)
yes they are generously cut and a fab fit for my warm-bloods shoulders and neck they haven't rubbed his shoulders or mane over the 3yrs pus Ive been using them.

i have heard the rug with the many liners isn't so good but Ive never tried it myself so probably shouldn't comment.

I have a couple of their rugs - I brought a MW TO for my little arab last winter - and it was fab for him - so not just for the big guys!!

I have just brought a buster trio for my mare to see her through the winter.

Fabby rugs - I think that as older rugs get completely worn out I will replace them with PE rugs

Bad experience with the ones we had so wouldn't touch them even tho they seem to have many fans. Probs with bits breaking immediately and customer service was Sh1t! Rambo / Buccas no complaints!

Love 'em BUT I bought all of mine in their various sales, so I may not have said the same if I had paid full price! I have 3 heavyweight TO, 4 fleeces and 2 liners.

Love my PE rugs, have in fact sold off all my Rambos now and replaced with PEs because they seem to fit much better. Certainly never had a problem. Be interested to hear whether the ones with the problems with them were bought recently or a few years ago? Have only been using them for the last 18 months or so.

Me and about 12 others on my yard use them- I love the fit of Horseware and always use one of these on my boy first with a PE over the top as I find them very deep which keeps my boy cleaner and the neck covers are the ONLY ones Ive found that are actually long enough!

I have a 450g, 200g, 70g, fly rug and their boots etc.
I've always found the staff helpful and never had a prob with anything. I love them!

Fab rugs!

Got the Buster Trio and its a brill fit, very deep and generously cut, and madam's antics haven't managed to make it move. However think it does need reproofing after only one season of use but otherwise major thumbs up, and excellent value for money too

if your horse has broad shoulders dont try the wbeeter unless its the large shoulder pleat version.
the 'new' design ones with the tiny pleat on the front of the shoulder were way too snug for my warmblood.
never had a problem with shoulders with the PE rugs.

My cob honestly could onlyr eally wear PEI - agree weatherbeeta are tiny around shoulder! masta fall apart and generally dont like them. must say i think amigos are brill for the price!

Don't know what exactly you were looking for but iv got a 6'6 450g used for one winter then prof cleaned/reproofed for sale.. looking for about £60 to fund a smaller one for new pony

Think I'll probably go for the PE one then - thanks for the offer littleme but I only want a 5'6 one for my pony. She's only 13.3hh but got a long back and quite broad around the shoulders.

thanks for all your help everyone!

I'm reserving judgement on this one - the one I bought fell apart (not the fabric, just didnt seem very well sewn together as straps fell off etc). Not sure I would risk it again. I love Horseware Rambo, Rhino

Funny you should say that as they are now selling polyester turnouts, so are moving into cheaper materials. IME polyester rugs are not as hardwearing as nylon. BTW the catalogue does not state what material the new rugs are made of, so I phoned them & asked.
I bought a Winterbuster in a sale 2 years ago and it is super. Paid £56 for a 200g and bought an under rug to go with it from Fal.

I have two heavyweight TOs for my two and love them. Two seasons each, and have only had to repair one bit of velcro. They are very deep and cover a fantastic lot of horse.

I have really gone off the newer rambos/rhinos as they are like mini-skirts in comparison which when horse has clipped tummy seems a little cruel.

I agree that nylon for an outer material is far more durable to wire/teeth etc than polyester.
