Does anyone use/rate any of these?

My Amigos are coming up small on my horse in a 6ft 3 but he seems to be a perfect 6ft 3 in some others i have tried on but his bum is hanging out in his current Amigos!

Thinking of changing to PE or WB or even Swish - would anyone recommend any of these? I haven't used Weatherbeeta in years. Equally I could just get 6'6 Amigos!

I love my Swish rugs and would happily only have them as I gradually replace the ones I have. They are tough, well designed and fit well.
My friend has one on her horse and I looked after him at the weekend and was really impressed! They just have very little in stock all of the time!!

I really like my Swish rug - I have a 0g and use the lliners. I use the T/O for turn out and when stabled overnight with no rubbing on chest or showers and no mane loss with the neck cover.

I've had all the above, and Swish is my favourite.
I also really rate Mudrugs, which are probably a fraction ahead of Swish in my list of faves.

If the Amigos are too small both Weatherbeetas and Premier Equine are more generous but in different ways.

WB worked well on a tb with big shoulders, the PE managed to be too big and too small at the same time. Too tight across the chest but a bit long and came down to his knees. Amigos were too tight though Rhinos were more generous. Not tried Swish.

That's interesting criso as I was just about to splash on a light PE turnout for a big shouldered TB (who find WB rugs and needs a super ballistic outer)
Mine was quite short backed but chunky up front. PE in a smaller size actually worked better for my lighter tb than him.

I had a lovely LW Rhino Wug for him. Rambo's are a bit out of my price range but the Rhino was affordable in a Hope Valley sale.

Can you borrow a PE to try for fit,

My swish rug didn’t last very long. It was a fine rug but probably wouldn’t buy another, I would rather spend a bit more on a HW. But if yours doesn’t trash an Amigo it might last you better.

I’ve had Wethabeeta’s that have lasted for years but my current one doesn’t fit my horse that well but she is tricky to fit. I do like their rugs though.

I had a very old PE that the inside lining gave up before there was any damage to the outside.(probably looking at 12+ years) It was a brilliant rug and owed me nothing. I can’t comment on the new ones though but interested to hear what people think of them now.

I’ve always used Weatherbeeta rugs on my mare but bought a swish rug at beginning of this winter. Really impressed - great quality, love the liner system. Has been great in all this wet wet weather.

Mine is quite long in the back - if he had some muscle to him and some more fat I'm sure someone would think "WB" and not necessarily "TB".

My horse's neighbour has a selection of PE rugs and was going to ask her when I see her next. PE weren't helpful on sizing.

Both my 50g Swish rugs on the ponies have stood up to torrential rain without leaking. I've been really impressed because they weren't expensive (bought in the sales) and some of Feb's rain has been horrendous.

Baby cobs is so plastered in mud its going to need cleaning which will be a real test of how good they are.

i love my swish and weatherbeeta rugs, but find that swish tend to be more generous in terms of bum coverage! lily has a little bit of bum exposure in her amigo, but her rambos fit lovely. diva is a 5”6 in everything, but her weatherbeeta is shorter on her bum than other brands even though it still fits

I love my Swish rugs!

I have got a couple of PEs - fly rug & a therapy rug - and ime they come up a size big, so 6 ft 6 was perfect for my horse who is usually 6 ft 9.

highly recommend swish & premier equine.
I have far too many of each but i do use them all! None have been trashed yet.
i use 6’9 in swish & any other makes and 6’6 in PE.

Also, the nylon Cool fly rugs from swish are brilliant, the only fly rug my horse doesnt sweat in

I bought a 50g Swish turn out a few years ago, and was very disappointed. Didn't last very well, not very waterproof - only really used it one autumn, and never bought another.

I love the fit of PE stable rugs, but don't have any of their turn outs.

Out of those 3 I’d go Swish.
Weatherbeeta, I only have a combo T/O I find are quite short in the neck on my horse.
PE I like but they fade and I can’t be bothered with the double Velcro straps, I know that’s really lazy but I’m often rushing in the morning so prefer easiness!
I do think PE look best though.
Swish would be my definite choice.

I have a weatherbeeta 220g turnout - its an absolutely lovely rug but just isn't quite the right shape for my chunky connie - not enough room for his big shoulder (but would be find on a tb/wb type). My friend has a tb and all her rugs are Swish and she really rates them too

I have always used weatherbeetas but the quality isn’t as good as it used to be. I have a 20 year old rug and a year old rug, the 20 yr old one is so warm and dry, great quality. The year old one is no where near as warm (actually a higher gram) and isn’t the most waterproof. So, I won’t be buying anymore WB’s

Weatherbeeta have dropped in quality sadly I feel, so I only tend to buy their fleeces in the sale.

Premier Equine rugs are pricey but awesome and fit my slim built 14.1 Appy x perfectly - I go a size larger for stable/fleece rugs but stick to his normal rug size for turnouts. He's got a short back, a rather nice bottom and is generally quite a sporty build all round.

I also love Rambo/Rhino rugs but again tend to shop second hand or in the sale for these...

I only have one weatherbeeta rug- bought on sale which brought it down to a similar price point to a shires rug. At that price, I felt like I got my money's worth- I would have been upset with the quality if I'd bought it full price tbh.
Haven't tried the other two brands, so cobt offer an opinion there!

I am not at all happy with my Swish rugs. I have chunky and heavy horses and they just don't fit as well as those from the big horse shop but are about half the price.

Assume you're talking about standard horse rugs so in terms of quality I've found the turnouts and quilts OK but fleece and fly rugs just fell apart at the seams.

Big horse shop do do standard horse rugs if you want to consider them. So well made, lasting me forever. My only criticism other than price is that they are so well made they tend to be heavy - all metal work is brass, seams are generous, lots of taylored bits so more material used.

I have used the swish half and half fly rug and am happy with it, thou for big chested horses its a bit tight but has a removable neck.

The rain sheet i have used in the past wasn't great on my elephant. I really rate big horse shop rugs. My sisters is in thete regular fit and mine in their broad fit.
