I cant decide!!!

Anyone got any recommendations for/against these products?

I like the snug neck on the Premier Equine ones, but would have to get the winter buster as i dont think you can fold the necks back on the combo.


But i saw a mates stormcheeta combo and it was made of this gorgeous material and seemed really snug and warm...


Theyre both priced around the same and both have 450G filling which my sensitive boy needs.

) and I much prefer my PE .
Its cut alot deeper which my beast needs and its weathered better !

In regards to the PE rugs - does the winterbuster ( detachable neck) leave a triangle uncovered at the wither? Also is there any way you can fold back the necks on the combo?

Oh and do the sizes run small?
 
PE Defo!! Shires sizing had gone a bit out of the window since they have had a new designer. I dont think Shires products are worth the money these days to be honest.
 
PE the sizing is true, the rugs are nice and deep.

I have lightweights with detachable neck and it is designed in such a way that there isn't really a gap as such.

Mine has two velcro fastenings, one either side, nothing across the wither to rub but no draughty gaps.
 
I hate Shires rugs, they have rubbed everything I've put them on. I've never used a PE rug but I've also never heard anything bad about them. I try to only buy Fal or Rambo (money permitting!) and lots of people think PE is on par with/surpasses their quality - a pretty good recommendation IMO!
 
rubbing could definitely be a problem for my boy - he has such a thin pansy little mane anyway i really dont want a rug that will rub!

I'm hoping to get a fourth year out of my Premier Equine rug which has been absolutely brilliant. However, our horses have just moved fields to one a couple of hundred yards from our yard (the farmer rotates our horses' fields so there's always a field or two resting) and to my horror, I discovered that I'd left my Premier Equine rug hanging over a piece of farm machinery with part of it draped on the ground SINCE SPRING!! Apart from looking disgusting, it had grass growing out of the lining!!!! I will certainly have a go at, er, "renovating" it, but if it's a throw away job, I'll definitely buy another Premier Equine. My daughter's saving up to buy two from their new rug range for her boys, too.
