Hi

Can anyone help with sizes for the air cooled event boots?

i measured leg width last night but seam to be 1-2 inches smaller than the sizes stated, do you think the sizes stated are external, i measured the leg - not a boot i use

Thanks

If it helps, against an old and new PE boot my horse is a medium on the hinds - and I would not want them any smaller. He's a 16.3 TBx with a reasonable amount of bone as there is a bit of ID in there.

My 9 3/4 inch bone 16.2 Irish horse needed the medium fit Premier Equine boots.
The little TB, who is 16 hands who has 7 3/4 ins bone in front and 8 ins behind has small P.E XC boots in front and the medium P.E XC boots behind as the small hind boots are waaay too short.

thanks gret help, I've a 16.3 wb with 91/4 bone at front so i thought i shoudl go for the med, but they only have white

I've gone for the meduims in black, had to go for BL1 for the front as they didn't have original in black, but still v good value for set of 4 boots. thanks for comments on size everyone

I loved mine for about a year, then they started falling down round my horses fetlocks and now i can't use them at all! With the strong tendon/cannon bone guard i am really worried they will do some damage when they slip down, so am on the hunt for some alternatives at the moment.

So, the tendon guard is inflexible then? It doesnt have any give, widthwise? Hmmm.

I so wish I could get my hands on all these boots and feel them out, but these arent available where I am, nor are the Prolites.

Shiggins- i have to say that i used to have these boots and i hated them! they felt really cheap and they didnt seem to fit my horse, or my firends, well at all. I sent them back after trying them once becos they rubbed his legs and slipped down. Got my money back and put them towards a pair of NEW aircooled boots with are really good! they get washed all the time and still look like new after 2 seasons of wear and tear.

Really dislike the tendon guards on the PE boots, they are solid which can be prone to splintering or shattering, and can also cause bruising as anything that solid isn't great at dissipating shock.

I love the prolite boots, as they are flexible but incredibly protective and fit well. However, my fav's at the moment are the trizone ones as they are flexible but tough enough to withstand any impact, and are very light and well researched. You can also get them for under £40 on surrey equestrian ;)

I found the front ones really good but not so keen on the hind ones. My horse is a 16.2 warmblood x TB and he wears the large size ones. The front ones fit perfectly and dont move but the hind ones are not so good. I got mine cheap in the sale and use them for every day riding and have some other boots for xc made by style products

dont know about actual inch size, sorry - didnt measure my boots/my horses legs :) BUT i do know that the large fit my 16.3hh hanoverian just right :)

i only have the fron ones though - so cant comment on hinds - but the fronts fit nicely and dont slip/rub

xx

My update - Went for med size all round, arrived Tues, wasn't sure about the size of hinds, fine in height, but thought the width a tiny bit small. But having looked at the measurements in the catalogue for the large I've kept the mediums thinking they might stretch a little, and the height was right.

So ridden in the fronts twice very good fit no slip and once in the hind ones, they also seamed fine. So pleased so far, planning a xc school over easter weekend as test, then will put them away as best.

Did get them in the sale and very good value. (Smiley face if i could find one)

I bought some in the sale too, but I haven't had a chance to test mine yet. Premier Equine always have a good sale every year, I normally end up buying something!
