Just wondering when folks start getting dogs ready for Crufts. Here us my routine.
1. Already increased exercise as our judge is a shooting person and likes dogs in v hard condition. Will start bike work next week when lighter evenings
2. Daily brushing to get out dead coat, lily is due to blow her coat any day so hoping to keep it Intact a little longer by bigger pus brushing
3. Regular hand stripping of ears, try to keep on top of the whispy bits
4 bath on 23rd feb
5 bath on weds before crufts
6 keep nails trimmed
7 get friend to tidy rest of Lily's coat

This is just Lily's list haven't even thought about human requirements yet

Incresed Food as the dane is erratic and drops weight like a mad man
adding Yumega & salmon oil to condition coats for the afghans..
Bathing weekly for the Ghans and making sure no Knots turn up.
open show tomorrow.
and then i will bath on the night befor..
:)

Purchased a new top yesterday - already have trousers, a smart jacket & comfy boots. :)
Not showing this year but on discover dogs so need to present a good image.

All breeds should be there each day but sometimes on the group day there will be a sign saying "see you in ring X, hall Y"
Hound day is Thursday and I will be at the show then but my Borzoi (now a veteran) has the Sunday afternoon stint.

Great thanks for that, I will have some respite from the yappies then :)

I was hoping to up my gundogs exercise and swim her twice a week to get her in harder condition. Unfortunately she is in season so my preparation will now consist of:
buying shampoo to remove staining from her bits that are supposed to be white.

Trotting her alongside a bike on a lead

getting myself fitter

Practising standing and running her

Hoping she is finished in time to go (she's been in for 5 days)

Bath & groomers the day before

Feeding an extra feed a day to gain 'show weight'

Night before Crufts = quick bath (mainly just the white bits)

Day of show = turn up

That's how easy it is to show munsterlanders (and i only need the first step because i normally like to keep him on the leaner athletic side but judges like them chunkier!)

my Bedlington has had his crufts trim, now he will be trimmed a miniscule amount daily. he is having 2 meals a day to try and get his weight up a little. it is my first time ever at Crufts with a dog, I probably have no chance whatsoever. but I adore my dog and I was so delighted he had qualified so we are off on the sixth to stay with friends up there, and then will be in the ring early on the Thursday.

I will be there on Thursday! I will be helping stafford welfare raise much needed funds and also assisting my friend with her older battersea stafford bitch in temptation alley. Nugget has highly selective hearing, is deadly cute with her head tip and a big character. Her owner confidently predicts that Nugget will be providing the laughs and not actually doing what she should be..Alternatively if you are anyway near the Stafford area and see someone selling raffle tickets... that will be me!!

I'm in on the Thursday with my salukis- it's my latest litters Crufts debut, and I've got the whole lot qualified with their new owners. And my own veterans etc.

Stripping fluff off the pups daily, and nails/ teeth done already, bathing on Sunday and then a touch up white bits wash on Wednesday!!
