Preparation for rug weather...

My horses rug rubs my horses mane and makes it fall out and this year it has grown back so it is all the same length, however, I don't want it to fall out again so has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can do to stop his mane from falling out again?

I have found combo rugs rip out manes regardless but rugs with separate necks seem much better. It also helps if you keep the inside of the neck cover grease free.

This. What you want to do is prevent friction/rubbing . . . and do make sure that your neck rugs fit properly over the withers/lower part of the neck.
