We have an M&M LR pony who we want to carry on showing over the winter. Could anyone help with any tips on feeding and keeping them in condition, rugging, clipping etc in fact any helpful information would be great
If you have to clip them then clip them out fully (you can leave their legs but clip their heads fully). Obviously you will then need lots of rugs!!
Feed something along the lines of baileys outshine with either alfa a & sugar beet or if you feel the pony needs something extra then a tiny bit of topline cubes.
If small child isn't riding them everyday then I would recommend lungeing so that you can keep the pony's topline.
Anyway, that's what we did with ours - others may have a different opinion
Ditto to scotsmare, Although depending on what m&m pony you have ?? We have a section A and he needs very little feeding , We have just basically added oils to a tiny scoop of feed and thats all hes ever needed .
I'm Actually heading up to clip tommy next week as hes out on loan to the riding school . I shall be clipping him all out apart from the legs and then rugging him up .
