Is there anyone on here that knows whether you are except from paying for prescription from your doctor if you are on Job Seekers Allowance?

I am baffled!

No not if your on jobseekers allowance alone.

Hmmm....ok now I'm confused, just had a look on CAB website (didn't think of that before) and apparently I can get free prescriptions!

I think you are exempt if:
Jobs Seekers
Incapicity
Income support
If its a contraceptive
Maternity Cert

Can anyone who does have to pay afford to be ill these days? I'm over 60 so don't pay but just noticed yesterday that a prescription is an amazing £7.10 per item, I'm seriously shocked!

If you have a life threatening condition you are exempt . . ie diabetes (i think)...... so why do asthma sufferers have to pay for their inhalers??????
