I'm looking for some ideas for a present, if you inventive lot are able to help :)

One of my horses has been out on loan (not for very long) and it hasn't worked out. The loaner has been fantastic, the horse is being returned fit and well and in great condition. Not only that but he is coming newly shod, recent worm count etc. The loaner has also gone way beyond call of duty by arranging for a friend to show him off to prospective purchaser to the point that I have done virtually nothing to rehome him.

I would like to show my appreciation and buy her a present. The problem is I really don't know her very well at all and what she likes/dislikes etc.

About the only idea I have come up with is to put some money behind the bar at her local pub so that she could go out for drinks/dinner with family/friends.

Any other suggestions? She is mid-thirties at a guess, likes hunting, but that is about all I know!

IMO you can never go wrong with a gift voucher for a beauty parlour, its the sort of thing people wont buy themselves but love to have! :)

Oh god, I'd hate a voucher for a beauty parlour. If she is a horse person then get her a voucher for horse stuff, I should think all the big clothing companies sell vouchers.

I'd be really chuffed to be able to go to my local horse shop and buy something. It really depends on what you want to spend.

I personally would love beauty salon vouchers. But this person isn't someone who would strike me as definitely liking the idea. Also, she is unlikely to be getting another horse/riding much in the near future as she is injured so didn't really want to rub her nose in the whole 'horse' thing.

Have you got a nice picture of the horse she had?
Put that in a nice frame ... something I'd like.

I'd be another no for a beauty salon ... I hate being touched by strangers :o:eek:!

How soo untill she is riding again, perhaps a gift voucher for a hunting shop, there is some on line, or a photo off her out hunting most hunts usualy have a photographer out at least once, I do t think this will be rubbing her nose into it, just reminds off the fun IMO the money behind the bar does sound good, allthough if she has children or other responsablitys could be tricky for her to have a evening out? Could you check with a friend off hers at all?

I know it might seem a bit old fashioned but what about a bouquet of flowers , preferably delivered , there's nothing quite like it for making a statement , especially if you get them delivered to where she works , it's lovely to be recognized for doing something good..
