when i untack there are odd lumps on wither - i assume them to be pressure lumps, I am fairly certain that the saddle doesnt touch the wither at all, saddler fitter has checked it and altered flair. I am now using sheepskin to see if it helps - it doesnt help with the lumps but she seems to move better with sheepskin so keeping that. but not sure what to do about lumps - they do go down after about an hour but surely something is bringing them up - whether it is heat? (but nowhere else on back) or pressure and perhaps it doesnt touch when stood still when saddler has checked it and perhaps its something when moving - she does have high TB withers.?????????

mine gets exactly the same ,and has high tb withers too lol i found it was better in the winter so it could be a reaction to the heat, they go away and dont bother my lass so im not too fussed.

Lumps of any kind are a warning sign that something is not right with the saddle fit. Saddles cause so many issues from lumps to muscle atrophy. Have a look at the following site it is very informative, horses which we see almost every day and appear 'normal' are actually suffering from the effects of ill fitting saddles. Horses are stoic, some may show obvious changes in behaviour and others suffer quietly for a very long time.

well she doesnt react to them at all - you can prod squeeze all you like they dont hurt her - so just wondered if anyone else has had these issues and could it be just heat or is it pressure - but surely if pressure lumps then they would surely hurt?
